For your consideration we have a great set of vintage advertising flat matchbooks from the 1950s. Postmarked 1954 on the package, these matches were made but The Diamond Match Co. of Cleveland, Oh. and were printed for the Pittsburgh Pipe and Coupling Co. of Allison Park, PA. They tell about the product, "Forged Seamless and Wrought Steel" on one side and encourage potential clients to look for the anvil label on their pipes and couplings with the companies illustration on the other. The inside reveals blue tipped flat matches with a map of the USA that features the different cities and towns where one could find the home office and factory, the district sales agency, and the district sales agency and warehouse. These are a wonderful recollection of how small gestures and advertising used to work in an era before ads in your Facebook feed.
